Schudi Organ Company Music

Festive Organ Music for Weddings and Other Occasions is music performed by Joyce Jones as recorded on the Schudi instrument at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Included are works by Cesar Franck, G. F. Handel, J. S. Bach, Charles-Marie Widor, and others. Many of the pieces were arranged or edited by Joyce Jones. Available from Word Music, Irving, Texas, on CD and cassette. Many vocalists and instrumentalists combined their talents to make this Christmas at St. Thomas Aquinas recording. Featuring the choir of the parish under the direction of the late Paul Riedo, then Director of Music at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Dallas. In addition to Mr. Riedo's own performance on the organ, three of the selections feature Keith Weber. Music of the harp is provided by David Williams. The recording is available from Pickwick Group Ltd. (England) as part of The Orchid Series, No. ORCD 11020.

Titled Shout The Glad Tidings, this recording features the sacred music of Paul Lindsley Thomas, performed by the choirs of Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Dallas, Texas, with The Texas Brass and Orchestra, as conducted by Mr. Thomas, and is available through the church. This CD was recorded in the Sanctuary of Saint Michael and All Angels church in May of 1995, and features two solos on the 92-rank Schudi instrument.

Featuring the Schudi Organ, Opus 38, A Child Is Born, subtitled Christmas at the National Shrine, was recorded in 1988 in the Crypt Church of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, DC. Available from Vogt Quality Recordings, No. VQR2021, the recording features the instrument shown in part on our home page. (See complete photos elsewhere on this site.) The choral performance is that of the Choir of the National Shrine under the direction of Dr. Leo Nestor, Music Director, along with Dr. Robert Grogan, Organist. The twenty selections here cover a total playing time of over 70 minutes.

The Schudi Organ at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Dallas, with the late Paul Riedo at the console, combine with the trumpet work of Richard Giangiulio, then Principal Trumpet with the Dallas Symphony, to make Pistons and Pipes. This recording, available from Crystal Records Inc, Sedro-Woolley, Washington, features 20 selections from the music of Handel, Fantini, Grossi, Persichetti, Baldassare, Bellini, Hovhaness and Tomasi.
